The Grand National Assembly of Turkey ordered the establishment of Inonu University in Malatya, the birthplace of the second president of Turkey, Ismet Inonu. Inönü University is one of the largest public universities in the eastern part of Türkiye. It is a prestigious public university in Malatya and includes about 13 colleges, 4 higher education institutes, the Turat Ozal Medical Center, and 19 research and application centers.
