One of the first universities that is an example of Turkey's keenness to raise a generation that is persistent, aware and developed for its country is Karadeniz Technical University. Karadeniz University (Karadeniz means the Black Sea, i.e. the Black Sea Technical University), is the first Turkish public educational university established outside Ankara and Istanbul, where it opened on 20 May 1955 in the city of Trabzon, “the capital of the Black Sea region.”
